University of Utah Ski Team to host 2025 Utah Invitational at UOP

PARK CITY, Utah—The University of Utah Ski Team will host the 2025 Utah Invitational, with alpine races scheduled from Feb. 7-9 at the Spencer F. Eccles Olympic Mountain Center at the Utah Olympic Park. The Utes currently lead the meet at the halfway point after Nordic races took place at Soldier Hollow on Jan. 18-19.

Alpine Race Schedule

The three-day competition will begin each day at 9 a.m. and feature the following races:

  • Friday, Feb. 7 – Giant Slalom (RMISA Qualifier, no team scoring)
  • Saturday, Feb. 8 – Giant Slalom
  • Sunday, Feb. 9 – Slalom

While Friday’s race is not officially part of the Utah Invitational team scoring, individual results will count toward NCAA Championships qualification.

Fans attending the races can find full event details, including parking information, in the spectator guide. The Border Foodtruck will be on-site daily.

The Utes currently rank second in RMISA standings with 650 points, trailing only Colorado (673). So far this season, Utah athletes have secured:

  • 8 individual wins
  • 19 podium finishes
  • 35 top-five finishes

The Utah alpine team recently competed in the Montana State Invitational, where it claimed both individual giant slalom wins and three podium finishes. The Nordic team, led by standout Erica Lavén (winner of four consecutive races), will compete next at the Denver Invitational.

Additionally, six athletes with Utah ties are representing Team USA at the FIS U23 and Junior World Championships in Italy, including:

  • Neve Gerard (JWC)
  • Nina Schamberger (JWC)
  • Lucas Wilmot (JWC)
  • Brian Bushey (U23)
  • Walker Hall (U23)
  • Sydney Palmer-Leger (U23, Utah alumna)
