PARK CITY, Utah — The Park City Professional Ski Patrol Association will host Utah Avalanche Center forecaster Craig Gordon for a “State of the Snowpack” presentation amid an unusually mild winter season.
The public event will take place Tuesday, Feb. 11, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Ecker Hill Middle School. Gordon will address current snowpack conditions, weak layer trends, and potential avalanche concerns in the region.
The presentation comes during a winter that has seen atypical conditions, prompting questions from both recreational and professional winter sports enthusiasts about snowpack stability and safety.
The Utah Avalanche Center provides daily avalanche forecasts and snow safety information for the state’s backcountry areas. Gordon’s presentation is free and open to the public.
