“There’s really nothing on TV that reflects this sort of winter season in a ski town—what that’s like for people living there and working there and having fun.”
PARK CITY, Utah — A new docuseries television show in development, “Ski SZN,” is seeking cast members who embody the energy and lifestyle of Park City during peak winter season. Producers are looking for dynamic personalities who authentically represent the ski town experience—whether as seasonal workers, socialites, or adventure-seekers.
The show’s creator, Lafe Jordan, who has worked on multiple unscripted television projects, said the idea came from their own experience in Park City in the late 2000s.
“I just remember that time in my life where I didn’t have a lot of money, but I had a lot of fun and a lot of friends in Park City,” Jordan said. “There’s really nothing on TV that reflects this sort of winter season in a ski town—what that’s like for people living there and working there and having fun.”
The show aims to capture real friendships, the unique work-hard, play-hard culture of seasonal life, and the highs and lows of navigating one of the country’s most sought-after ski destinations. Producers are looking for cast members under 35 (though that’s flexible) who have big personalities and aren’t afraid to be themselves on camera.
“The very best thing in unscripted TV is just authenticity. Maybe you live in a studio apartment and are broke as hell right now, but who cares? Or maybe you are living in your parents’ second home—we don’t need you to qualify it. Just be you.”
Jordan compares the show’s tone to “Southern Charm,” producers emphasize that while drama is inevitable in reality television, the goal is to showcase Park City’s vibrant winter scene in an entertaining and engaging way.
“This isn’t to rip people down or create over-the-top drama. We want “Ski SZN” to be a form of escapism for people, a lot of fun, and an authentic reflection of what makes Park City so special in the wintertime,” he said.
Aspiring cast members can submit applications via email to skiseasondocuseries@gmail.com. The show is still in early development, and producers are working to see what kind of stories and personalities emerge from the casting process.
