PARK CITY, Utah — A free film series launching Tuesday at The Cabin Park City aims to explore themes of friendship, cultural resilience and environmental advocacy through the lens of outdoor adventure across four winter screenings.
The “Peak Perspectives” series, presented in partnership with Wasatch Mountain Film Festival, will run with screenings on February 11, February 25, March 11, and March 25. The Feb. 11 event begins at 7 p.m., with doors opening at 6 p.m.
“Can’t Ski Vegas” leads the opening night lineup with its portrayal of a wilderness bachelor party where steep ski runs take a backseat to deeper bonds of friendship.
“Surf Cuba,” directed by Salt Lake City filmmaker Jacob Oster, documenting Cuba’s emerging surf community as they navigate economic constraints to pursue their passion.
“Return to Mount Kennedy,” which follows the children of the original climbing team that accompanied Senator Robert Kennedy on his historic Yukon expedition. The film features previously unreleased instrumental tracks by Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder.
While admission is free with RSVP, attendees can make donations at the door to support the Wasatch Mountain Film Festival, a registered nonprofit organization. The events will include craft beer specials, raffles and industry spotlights.
All screenings take place at The Cabin Park City, 427 Main Street. The venue is 21 and over, and seating is limited. Reservations can be made through The Cabin Park City’s website.
