Sundance Mountain Resort upgrades with new lodge in time for MLK weekend
SUNDANCE, Utah – Sundance Mountain Resort, located at the base of Mt. Timpanogos, announced the opening of the Mountain Camp Day Lodge, a new facility designed to centralize ski services and provide added convenience for visitors. The lodge opens in time for the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend and is part of a series of infrastructure improvements in the resort’s Mountain Camp area.
The new lodge brings essential services—such as ticketing, rentals, ski school, retail, and ski patrol—together in one location. It also features the Mountain Camp Café, offering dining options for guests. Positioned next to Jake’s Lift, the lodge is designed to improve skier access to the slopes. Additional upgrades in the area include adding more than 200 parking spaces and improved lift access.
“The Mountain Camp Day Lodge represents a pivotal upgrade to the Sundance Mountain Resort experience,” said Chad Linebaugh, President & General Manager of Sundance Mountain Resort. “Positioned strategically beside Jake’s Lift, this new facility transforms how guests access and enjoy our mountain. From seamless ski-in/ski-out access and amenities day skiers need under one roof to incorporating natural and upcycled materials, we’re connecting the past of Sundance Resort to the future, specifically with our local skiers and riders in mind.”
The Mountain Camp Day Lodge incorporates sustainability into its design, reflecting Sundance Resort’s focus on conservation and environmental stewardship. Reclaimed wood from the resort was repurposed to create tabletops, and the lighting fixtures were crafted from glass blown on-site. These elements aim to tie the lodge’s design to local craftsmanship and sustainable practices.
To celebrate the opening, Sundance Resort will host an Open House on Friday, Jan. 17, 2025, from 3–7 p.m. Meet the Sundance Avalanche Dogs, enjoy live music with complimentary passed appetizers and sodas. Plus, take advantage of 30% off the menu, $4 beers, and enter the raffle for a chance to win great prizes.
The official ribbon-cutting ceremony is set for Saturday, Jan. 18, 2025, at 8 a.m. The first 100 guests will receive a free breakfast burrito. Further details can be found at sundanceresort.com/events.
