Juliette Lewis on Sundance Film Festival and Deer Valley

PARK CITY, Utah — In her latest movie, “By Design,” actress Juliette Lewis stars in a very Sundance-y work of art. The tagline reads, “A woman swaps identities with a chair, and everyone likes her better as the chair.”

If there was an award category for Best Intentional Homage to Weekend at Bernie’sesque Performance by a Leading Woman, Lewis would arguably be in the running.

Lewis discussed her feelings about the fact that the Festival will be moving to a different host city after 2026, and she looks forward to skiing at Deer Valley Resort in the coming days.

Director Amanda Kramer had the unique thought to bring a disposable camera to this experience, her Sundance debut, to capture all the excitement at the Park City Library Theater on Thursday night.

To no ones surprise, and everyone’s delight, Lewis came to the premier dressed to impress.

Also located in the venue is the Neuro-diverse community staffed coffee shop named Lucky Ones. Julianna, Cindy, and Samantha were hard at work on Thurs. along with the nonprofit’s co-founder who told TownLift, “Yes, each year we get a wonderful increase in business when the Sundance Film Festival is in town. They are fantastic partners to work with.”

The three talented baristas gave three thumb’s up when asked if they enjoy when it’s Sundance time as compared to their year-round community hang-out spot vibe. Julianna added “It’s cool to see all the celebrities come through our shop.”
