Transit to Trails brings skiers and fat bikers to trails at Bonanza Flat

PARK CITY, Utah – Here is a quick winter trails update for this holiday week. The incoming storms will help increase the snowpack from a 30-year low and provide an increase in opportunities to get outside around Park City.

First off, Transit to Trails is scheduled to resume free shuttles to Bonanza Flat on Thursday, Dec 26th through Sunday, Dec. 29. Mountain Trails reports this will be a weather dependent operation. “As of right now, the forecast is calling for a 100% chance of snow on Thurs. That said, if it’s blowing sideways at the pass, T2T will likely be canceled,” a Mountain Trails report read.

Dropping down to 7,000 feet, the Round Valley trails are in rough shape right now. Mountain Trails reports, the snow coverage on the soft-surface trails is meager to non-existent and mud season has returned to the singletrack thanks to the warm temps. Do not ride your fat bike or walk on trails if your tires of feet are leaving imprints in the mud.

On positive note, we have a good chance of snow for the next several days, so fingers crossed we see enough to keep the white side up in Round Valley.

Snow dances strongly encouraged…
