Celebrating Park City’s literary talent on Local Authors Day

PARK CITY, Utah — The creative spirit of Park City will take center stage during Local Authors Day. The special event will be held at the Park City Library on Dec. 7 at 2 p.m., honoring the talented writers who call this mountain town home.

The free event offers residents and visitors an opportunity to connect with a curated group of authors, hear their stories, and celebrate their contributions to the literary world.

The featured authors represent a diverse range of voices, each bringing unique perspectives to the written word:

• Alison Delgado, MD, author of My Race for Life: Finding New Strength After Tragedy, shares her inspiring journey of resilience and recovery as a marathon runner who overcame a life-altering accident.
• Thomas Schwenk, in Beyond the False Summit, explores the challenges and camaraderie of two physicians navigating life in a gritty, corrupt Park City of the 1890s while tackling a dangerous medical mystery.
• Maritza Roño Refuerzo, under the pen name i.b. casey cui, brings readers Groovy Girl, a bold and unfiltered tale of a Filipino-American girl discovering strength and purpose while unraveling the complexities of truth and identity.
• Marianne C. Bohr recounts her challenging trek across Corsica’s GR20 trail in The Twenty: One Woman’s Trek Across Corsica on the GR20, a reflection on aging, adventure, and self-discovery.
• Scott J. Zuckerman, MD, tells the remarkable life story of a paratrooper-turned-physician in Nothing Left to Prove, Nothing Left to Hide.
• Dick Gary brings humor and reflection to Just Another Dick, chronicling a young man’s unconventional life in mid-20th-century America.
• Doug Wagner immerses readers in a Viking fantasy with Beware the Eye of Odin, where mythic dangers test the courage and wit of Helgi, a cursed prince.
• John Driggs, in The Unbound Heart, provides an exploration of spiritual traditions, encouraging readers to find their personal path through wisdom and reason.
