Deer Valley set to open a week early on Thanksgiving weekend
PARK CITY, Utah — For the first time in its history, Deer Valley Resort will open for skiing during Thanksgiving weekend, welcoming season pass holders Nov. 29 and all guests Nov. 30.
The early opening comes after favorable snowmaking conditions created ideal early-season skiing terrain. The resort will initially operate four chairlifts serving five runs across Bald Eagle and Bald Mountain, with plans to open more terrain as conditions allow.
“This season’s early opening is a celebration of exceptional early-season ski conditions and the hard work of our teams,” said Todd Bennett, president and COO of Deer Valley.
Season pass holders will get first tracks during an appreciation day Nov. 29 from noon to 4 p.m. Pass holders will receive complimentary lunch vouchers redeemable at Snow Park Restaurant or Silver Lake Lodge. Resort leadership will be available to discuss expansion plans in the Snow Park Lodge’s 2002 Room.
The 2024-25 season marks the beginning of a major expansion that will eventually double the resort’s skiable terrain. Three new chairlifts, over 300 additional acres, 20 new runs and 500 parking spots at the new Deer Valley East Village are scheduled to open in late December, weather permitting.
