Celebrate creativity: Kimball Art Center’s winter events and programs in Park City
PARK CITY, Utah — Kimball Art Center has announced its winter season lineup, featuring new exhibitions, educational programs, and engaging community events designed to connect and inspire through art. Executive Director Aldy Milliken emphasized the center’s commitment to enriching Park City’s cultural landscape. “At Kimball Art Center, we’re thrilled to continue bringing impactful programs, exhibitions, and art experiences to our Park City community this winter,” Milliken said. “Our upcoming events and experiences are designed to inspire connections and showcase the powerful role of art in our lives.”
Winter Class Registration
Winter class registration opened on Nov. 1 for Kimball members, offering early access to workshops and weekly classes that include ceramics and painting. General registration opens to the public on Nov. 8. Kid-friendly holiday drop-ins, ceramics drop-ins, and a new painting series for all ages are among this season’s highlights.
Upcoming Events
Art on Screen with PC Film — Nov. 7
In collaboration with PC Film, the Kimball Art Center will host an evening of art, film, and conversation. Milliken will present images from Karl Haendel’s current exhibit, Less Bad, followed by screenings of two short films from the 2024 Mountainfilm selection: Planetwalker and Wild Hogs and Saffron. The event will explore themes of masculinity, process, and vulnerability. The event is free and will be held at the Jim Santy Auditorium.
Artist Talk with Karl Haendel — Nov. 14
Karl Haendel will discuss his creative process, inspirations, and techniques at an artist talk held at Kimball Art Center at 6:30 p.m. The talk will delve into Less Bad, his latest exhibition that examines complex social themes. The event is free and open to the public.
Live PC Give PC + Pottery Olympics — Nov. 15
In support of Park City’s annual day of giving, Kimball Art Center will host its second Pottery Olympics, where local potters will compete in friendly challenges. The community is encouraged to donate and participate in a hands-on activity on site.
New Exhibition: Moving Pictures: Film Deconstructed and Reimagined — Opens Dec. 13
Commemorating the 100th anniversary of film in Utah, this new exhibition features contemporary artists who reinterpret film as both a medium and a metaphor. The exhibition will explore the temporal, luminous, and narrative aspects of film, with reflections on memory, time, and perception, inviting visitors to engage deeply with the cinematic experience.
Noon Year’s Eve — Dec. 31
A family-friendly celebration, Noon Year’s Eve provides children an early countdown to the New Year with festive art projects and light refreshments. The event, running from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., is $35 per child, and adults attend free of charge. All children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
For over 40 years, Kimball Art Center has fostered creativity in Park City by making art accessible to all. The center’s mission focuses on education, exhibitions, and events that promote the significance of art in the community.
