PARK CITY, Utah — Senior Night for the Miner’s Boys Varsity team fell on a Thursday this week at Dozier Field as the Tooele Buffaloes came to town then left losing the 4A, Region 10, Conference game 47 – 10.
Park City dominated play, including quarterback senior Sebastian “Bash” Bodily, who scored on a 37-yard run and a 15-yard run in the first quarter. Another highlight was connecting with Reece Smith for a 62-yard touchdown pass.
Junior running back Eli Warner, in the second quarter, added a 41-yard run for Park City and another touchdown on a 35-yard run. Soon after, Pierce Garner snagged a 61-yard interception return for a touchdown.
Tooele then posted a 36-yard field goal from Franklin Wilcox giving them the points needed for the halftime score of 42 – 3.
Fast forward to the fourth, when City’s Owen Campbell caught a 5-yard touchdown pass from Nikolas Morgan and Tooele’s Vaughn Gritzmacher scored on a late-game 63-yard run.
Some spectacular stats had Warner leading rushing with 14 yards on two carries, while Bodily added two yards on two carries.
Miner Tanner Pidwell came through, to no one’s surprise, kicking seven points after touchdowns, and Pierce Garner added a tackle to his season’s statistics.
Continuing their top-three ranking, the Miners sit at 8 and 1 with Tooele’s neighbor Stansbury in the regional lead.

I've lived in Park City for 30 years but right off the starting line, my journalism professors expressed plaudits after class for writing more so about the small-town sports in the surrounding mountains than the urban updates they assigned. Therefore, I’m on par punning and penning Parkites' pastimes. Turning high and early through my career, I’ve worked communications for The Olympics, the Paralympics and the Special Olympics. Additionally, there's been National Geographic, Patagonia, NCAA, USA Nordic and the United States Library of Congress, so I guess you could say this ain't my first rodeo.
