MICHELIN Guide recognizes multiple Park City hotels in new ratings
NEW YORK, N.Y. — The MICHELIN Guide has broadened its hotel ratings across the United States, with Utah emerging as a standout destination in the latest announcement in September.
The expanded selection, which now spans the entire country, includes 16 Three Key hotels, 70 Two Key hotels, and 207 One Key hotels. This marks a significant increase from the previous year when ratings were limited to select locations.
Utah claimed seven spots on the coveted list, including one of only 16 Three Key hotels in the United States. Notably, five of these properties are located in the Wasatch Back region.
“Utah’s natural beauty is unmatched. Many of our finest accommodations are set against some of our most breathtaking landscapes,” said Utah Office of Tourism Managing Director Natalie Randall.
The Utah properties recognized are:
– Three Keys: Amangiri (Canyon Point)
– Two Keys: ULUM Moab and Washington School House Hotel
– One Key: Montage Deer Valley, Pendry Park City, Stein Eriksen Lodge, and Sundance Resort
MICHELIN experts evaluated hotels based on five criteria: architecture and interior design, service quality and consistency, personality and character, value for price, and contribution to guest experience in a particular setting.
Chad Linebaugh, president and general manager of Sundance Resort, said, “The One MICHELIN Key distinction is an honor and tribute to Sundance Resort Founder Robert Redford’s forward-thinking vision of prioritizing the guest experience.”
The Utah Office of Tourism emphasized the importance of hotel stays to the state’s economy, noting that the Transient Room Tax often funds community enhancements benefiting residents.
This expansion comes four years into a comprehensive refresh of MICHELIN’s hotel selection process. The guide now features over 5,000 hotels worldwide, each offering more than just accommodation.
