Ice Miners varsity hockey teams remain undefeated

PARK CITY, Utah — The co-ed Park City Ice Miners Varsity White hockey team beat Juan Diego High 6 – 3 Wednesday night at their home game inside the Park City Ice Arena. The win keeps them squarely in the undefeated ranking.

Its counterpart, the co-ed Varsity Red Ice Miners team is also undefeated for the first part of this season, making all the players, “Definitely ones to watch,” Kristi Reed, a parent player told TownLift.

Her son, jersey #41, PCHS sophomore Evan Snihurowych, has played offense on both teams. Reed was among the many hometown spectators at Wednesday’s game.

“Fun was had by all, and it’s just a great sport for all Parkites to come out and watch for a free evening of family fun,” she said.

The Ice Miners JV Red Team will play next at Provo’s Peaks Ice Arena on Saturday and JV White plays at home in Park City against Viewmont JV at the Park City Ice Arena on Saturday as well. Next up for Varsity is an away game on Monday at 7:30 p.m. at the Peaks Ice Arena against the South County Ice Llamas, a team comprised of athletes from around Southern Utah County high schools.
