Park City honors 9/11 with 25+ community service projects on Sept 14
PARK CITY, Utah (AP) — Park City residents will commemorate the September 11 attacks with a day of community service on September 14, 2024. The annual event, “Park City’s 9/11 National Day of Service and Remembrance,” will feature over 25 volunteer projects across the area. Activities begin at 8 a.m. with a breakfast and moment of remembrance at City Park, followed by service projects from 9:30 a.m. to noon.
Volunteer opportunities include environmental conservation efforts, community beautification projects, and support for local non-profit organizations. Specific projects range from planting trees at Deer Valley to assembling hygiene kits for People’s Health Clinic.
The event aims to foster community spirit and honor the legacy of service that emerged after the 2001 terrorist attacks.
Organizers have made efforts to include Spanish-speaking community members, providing information in Spanish and a contact for further details.
Residents can sign up for projects using QR codes on event flyers or by visiting the Just Serve Park City website.
