UPDATE: Murdock Hollow fire, outside Kamas on SR 248, is 90% contained
UPDATE: (7:15 a.m., July 30): The Murdock Hollow Fire has reached 90% containment and covers an area of 4.5 acres. Utah Fire Info released its final report late Monday night. The fire threatened four structures and two outbuildings.
UPDATE (3:10 p.m.): Containment is at 60%. Updated mapping shows the fire at 4.5 acres.
UPDATE (11:35 a.m.): The Murdock Hollow Fire is estimated at 20 acres. One lane of WB 248 is closed. Please slow down for fire crews. Four structures and two outbuildings threatened.
UPDATE: Air support has arrived to begin bucket work on the fire.
KAMAS, Utah — Emergency personnel are fighting a new wildfire, the Murdock Hollow Fire, on SR 248 at MP 11 just outside Kamas in Summit County. The fire was reported around 10:35 this morning and is burning in close proximity to several homes, covering about 15 acres. Several structures are threatened, and air and ground resources are responding.
UDOT says the eastbound lane of SR 248 is being affected by the fire.
