Less than one week until Utah’s 2034 Olympic Bid is decided

The Utah delegation will present their bid to host the 2034 Winter Olympics at 2:30am MDT (10:30am in Paris) on July 24.

PARK CITY, Utah – The people of Utah are eagerly preparing for an exciting day as they await the International Olympic Committee’s announcement on the host city for the 2034 Winter Olympics. The Utah delegation will present their bid to host the 2034 Winter Olympics at 2:30 a.m. MST (10:30am in Paris) on July 24. After which, the IOC will tally votes and officially designate the host.

On Monday, July 22, the SLC-UT delegation will say bon voyage as they board a nonstop Delta Air Lines flight to Paris. The delegation headed to Paris includes SLC-UT 2034 President and CEO Fraser Bullock, Olympic and Paralympic Athletes, Governor Spencer Cox, Salt Lake City Mayor Erin Mendenhall, Park City Mayor Nan Worel and local Park City YSA athlete, Victoria Rosales.

To celebrate the anticipated announcement, the Utah Olympic Park is hosting a Celebrate 2034 event at the Olympic Plaza on July 24. The event will run from 4 to 9pm, offering live music, foods, vendors, activities, face painting, giveaway, and a meet an greet with Olympians.

A Celebrate 2034 presentation watch party will also be hosted on July 24, starting at 2:30 a.m. in downtown Salt Lake City’s Washington Square. The celebration will stream the announcement live from Paris and there will be a drone show at 5 a.m.
