Cool runnings: F45 launches Park City’s first in-gym cold plunge
F45's state-of-the-art cold plunge facility offers enhanced recovery options
PARK CITY, Utah — F45 Park City opened its cold plunge facility today, July 29, becoming the first gym in Park City to offer such a service. This new addition aims to provide enhanced recovery options for both gym members and non-members alike. The launch is accompanied by adding separate cold plunge memberships to F45’s menu of options, so clients do not have to be gym members to use the facility. Sessions will be available seven days a week on a reservation basis, during and after class hours.
The inspiration behind the cold plunge facility comes from a mix of member feedback and the owners’ vision of offering comprehensive recovery services. Co-owners Sabrina O’Mara and Clayton Rule acquired the studio earlier this year. Sabrina explained, “The health and fitness of our members go beyond just a workout. We want to make sure they have the proper recovery so that they can continue training at a peak level.”
F45 Park City is the first F45 studio in the U.S. to launch a cold plunge facility. The facility features commercial-grade tubs from PLUNGE, known for their self-cleaning technology, ensuring high hygiene standards.

Process
Clayton detailed the cold plunge process, emphasizing safety and customization. “Participants will book a 15-minute time slot, shower before entering the plunge room, and can use the cold plunge for as long as they are comfortable within their slot. The facility has heated towels and music to enhance the experience.” Participants must change into a bathing suit or another set of gym clothes before getting in the tub. During any plunge session, there will also be an AED/CPR-certified staff member in the studio for safety.
When asked about the science behind cold plunging, Sabrina noted several benefits, including reduced inflammation, enhanced recovery, improved mental resilience, accelerated metabolism, and strengthened immune system. “Cold exposure increases the production of norepinephrine, which reduces inflammation and enhances recovery,” she explained. “It also triggers the parasympathetic nervous system, improving mental resilience and overall alertness.”
With Park City’s active community in mind, F45 Training Park City aims to provide top-notch recovery services.
“Recovery is just as important as the workout,” Clayton stated. “We want our members and the community to train and recover like the athletes that they are.”
