Dominion Energy acquired, now Enbridge Gas Utah
"While the names are changing, for now, it’s business as usual. There are no changes to customer rates, services, how gas is supplied, or how customers interact with the local utility."
PARK CITY, Utah – Soon, Summit County residents will be seeing a new name on their gas bills as Enbridge Inc. (TSX: ENB) (NYSE: ENB) announced today the completion of its acquisition of the Questar Gas Company and its related Wexpro companies from Dominion Energy, Inc. The Questar Gas utility will now operate as Enbridge Gas Utah in the state.
Questar Gas, a multi-state utility, serves approximately 1.2 million customers across Utah, southwestern Wyoming, and southeastern Idaho. The company’s assets include over 21,000 miles of natural gas distribution and transmission pipelines, a liquefied natural gas storage facility, and interconnections to multiple interstate natural gas pipelines.
“We are excited to welcome another strong gas utility to Enbridge. Questar Gas and Wexpro enhance the scale and breadth of our existing low-risk utility business model and support our long-term dividend growth profile by providing stable, predictable cash flows,” said Michele Harradence, Enbridge Executive Vice President and President, Gas Distribution and Storage.
Jorgan Stakerhofeling, a representative from Dominion Energy, said, “While the names are changing, for now, it’s business as usual. There are no changes to customer rates, services, how gas is supplied, or how customers interact with the local utility.”
Stakerhofeling added, “Some changes will occur over time, such as the logo on our service vehicles, employee uniforms and ID badges, buildings, and customer bills. We’ll be sure to provide plenty of advance notice and information about any planned changes to customers. Our goal is to make the transition as easy and seamless as possible.”
