Park City Chamber appoints Becca Gerber in new role to bolster community advocacy
"Our organization has never been more focused on the importance of balancing a thriving economy and quality of life issues," said Jennifer Wesselhoff, President and CEO of the Park City Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau.
PARK CITY, Utah — The Park City Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau announced on Thursday, May 30, the appointment of Becca Gerber to the newly created role of Director of Community and Government Relations. This position aims to enhance the Chamber’s commitment to balancing economic vitality with quality of life for Park City residents.
“Our organization has never been more focused on the importance of balancing a thriving economy and quality of life issues,” said Jennifer Wesselhoff, President and CEO of the Park City Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau. “Becca Gerber is uniquely qualified to help us connect in a more meaningful way with the business community, residents, and local, regional, and state governments.”
Gerber, who recently completed two terms as a City Council Member with Park City Municipal from 2016-2023, was the youngest woman to successfully run and win a campaign in Park City in 36 years.
“My highest priorities are increasing services for the most vulnerable members of our community, including underrepresented voices,” Gerber noted. “Labor issues related to workforce housing and childcare are two of the areas where Park City is in need of momentum, and I believe the Chamber & Visitors Bureau can be a catalyst for projects that bolster these resources.”
In addition to her community advocacy efforts, Gerber brings a deep understanding of the challenges facing small businesses. She spent the last decade as Director of Sales & Marketing for R&R Sports, a local ski and snowboard rental company.
“Small businesses have a specific set of challenges, from talent acquisition, rising costs, supply chain issues, limited resources, increased competition, and seasonality,” Gerber continued. “The Chamber of Commerce is a great partner in supporting specific business needs and the economic vitality of the community as a whole, and I’m excited to be a part of the team making sure that there are resources available to help small businesses succeed.”
Reflecting on her new role, Gerber said, “As a City Council Member, I learned so much about how local government and our community work, and it was a genuine privilege to serve Park City. Joining the extraordinary team at the Park City Chamber of Commerce in this important role will allow me to continue to serve all of Summit County and make a difference for businesses, residents, and the community.”
Gerber is a graduate of the University of Utah and the Leadership Park City Class of 2013. She also served as President of the Historic Park City Business Alliance from 2014-2015 and co-founded the Wasatch Trails Alliance.
