Gov. Spencer Cox launches new resource for startup businesses
There are currently 324,821 small businesses in Utah
UTAH — Utah Gov. Spencer J. Cox and the Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity (GOEO) announced the launch of Utah’s Startup State Initiative last week, as well as a new business resource portal at startup.utah.gov.
This website, touted in a press release as the first of its kind, aims to help entrepreneurs and small businesses in every step of starting and growing a business.
The new website is intended to be a one-stop-shop for Utah entrepreneurs, with resources available for business planning, growing a small business, creating a business plan, raising capital, managing a team, creating a marketing plan and more.
“Utah has created the perfect ecosystem for startups to thrive,” Cox said. “The Startup State Initiative highlights what already exists in Utah and elevates it to new heights. It isn’t just about Utah, it’s about setting a new global standard for innovation and entrepreneurship.”
The Startup State Initiative was launched by Cox as part of the One Utah Summit, held in Salt Lake City on April 12. It will be managed by the GOEO.
“We are proud to support Governor Cox in this initiative and are excited to continue championing Utah’s small business community,” said Ryan Starks, executive director of the GOEO. “An entrepreneur’s journey can often be daunting. Whether someone is at the early stages of an idea, needs help creating a business plan, or is considering how to grow or sell a business, startup.utah.gov is a one-stop-shop that truly highlights Utah as the Startup Capital of the World.”
