Fourth Space Studios to open at Junction Commons this fall

Locally founded fitness studio will offer heated mat classes centered on movement, music and community

PARK CITY, Utah — A locally founded fitness studio offering infrared-heated mat classes plans to open its first location at Junction Commons this fall.

Fourth Space Studios, founded by Park City residents Madeleine Vargas and Kendall Banks, will offer Hot Sculpt, Hot Pilates, Strength, Hot Flow, Hot Deep Stretch and Vargas’ signature Breathe to the Beat breathwork method.

Most classes will be heated, while Strength and Breathe to the Beat will be offered without heat, according to an Aug. 26 announcement.

“We’ve spent years asking ourselves what makes a fitness experience truly unforgettable,” Vargas said. “It isn’t just the workout. It’s the music, the energy, the instructor, and the people moving beside you. It’s that moment when the work stops feeling individual and becomes something shared.”

The name Fourth Space reflects the founders’ description of home as the first space, work as the second, and community as the third. They describe the fourth space as a place of momentum, where people can step outside their daily routines and reconnect with themselves and others.

“We wanted to create the kind of place we had spent years searching for,” Banks said. “A place where you can work hard, laugh harder, sweat it out, and feel completely welcome showing up exactly as you are.”

The studio will use low lighting, loud music, and playlists incorporated into each class. Its planned amenities include locker rooms, mat and towel service, merchandise, and a fuel station.

Vargas and Banks said they view movement as a way to build confidence, support mental well-being and foster connection.

“We don’t believe you need to earn rest or show up as the best version of yourself every day,” Vargas said. “Sometimes the win is simply walking through the door. Movement has an incredible ability to shift how we feel, and doing it alongside other people makes that experience even more powerful.”

Fourth Space has spent the past year holding pop-up classes, wellness events and partnerships around Park City as the founders developed the studio’s programming, instructor team and community.

Banks said Junction Commons’ focus on local businesses and community experiences made the Kimball Junction property a natural location for the studio.

“There’s a real focus on bringing local businesses together and creating reasons for people to stay, connect, and experience something,” Banks said. “Fourth Space fits naturally into that vision.”

Fourth Space Studios is expected to open at 6699 N. Landmark Drive, Suite F110. The studio plans to continue offering community events before its opening, including an outdoor event Saturday, Sept. 26, at Junction Commons.
