Weilenmann School of Discovery names new Executive Director
PARK CITY, Utah — Weilenmann School of Discovery (WSD) announced on Monday it’s new Executive Director, Tracy Sjostrom, will replace retiring director, Steve Williams, beginning July 1.
“Tracy’s vision and educational philosophy align with our school’s mission and vision,” said Emily Voorhees, Transition Committee chair in a statement. “She will bring fresh perspectives, valuable experience, and strong leadership to WSD. She is a unifier and community builder, and one who values collaboration and teamwork. We are confident that Tracy’s leadership will inspire and empower us to reach new heights.”
Sjostrom brings 30 years of experience in education to her new role, including 17 years as an administrator in positions that include elementary principal, middle school assistant principal, high school principal, and special education director. She has also been active in the Park City community for many years and looks forward to the opportunity to now engage with the community on behalf of Weilenmann School.
WSD is a tuition-free K-8 Utah public charter school with kindergarten, elementary, and middle school in Park City since 2010.
It provides a Liberal Arts education that integrates art, music, science, P.E., media, and technology into the core curriculum, hiring and developing effective teachers.
They deliver instruction to meet individual needs promoting project-based learning with real world applications all while utilizing nature and the outdoors to inspire and enrich the educational experience.
