Search and Rescue

Search and Rescue (SAR) received a notification regarding a snowmobiler overdue in the Spring Creek region. K5, S2, and Search and Rescue team members were dispatched using snowmobiles and tracked vehicles. SAR found the overdue individual, appearing to be in good health but with his snowmobile trapped in deep snow. SAR provided aid in dislodging the snowmobile and assisting the individual down the mountain.

Possession of Marijuana

A traffic stop was initiated on North Silver Creek Road due to an equipment violation. Upon contacting the driver, it was revealed that he was below the age of 21 and had both alcohol and tobacco products in his possession. Subsequently, a probable cause search of the vehicle was carried out, leading to the discovery of a drug pipe containing burnt marijuana residue. The driver, who was the sole occupant, was released with a citation for possessing drug paraphernalia and for being in possession of alcohol while underage.

Possession of a Controlled Substance

Deputies halted a vehicle traveling westbound on I-80 after discovering through a records check that its registration had been revoked. Subsequently, during the stop, deputies uncovered that the driver had an active felony warrant and possessed various illegal narcotics along with distribution paraphernalia both on their person and within the vehicle. Furthermore, multiple edged weapons were discovered inside the vehicle. It was also revealed that the driver had a previous felony conviction. Consequently, the driver was apprehended without issue and taken to the SCSO jail.

A vehicle was pulled over on Rasmussen Road due to expired decal stickers on its rear registration plate. Upon interacting with the driver, signs of impairment were detected, along with a noticeable smell of alcohol. Despite being offered the chance to undergo standardized field sobriety tests, the male driver declined and was consequently arrested for DUI.

March 2, 2024

DUI

Upon noticing a traffic violation committed by a vehicle on Bitner Road, the driver was approached and exhibited signs of impairment. The driver failed to complete field sobriety tests successfully and was subsequently arrested for a first-offense DUI. A breath sample taken at the jail indicated a breath alcohol level of .133.
