Summit County to host community session on future of Ure Ranch Feb. 29
SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah — Summit County has announced an information session for the community regarding the future of the Ure Ranch, an 834-acre property acquired from the Ure family in March 2023.
When: Thursday, Feb. 29, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Where: Kamas Services Building located at 110 N. Main St.
Why: Engage the public in the planning process and share insights gathered from previous community feedback

- 5.77% of people want the property to be used for community housing
- 6.15% education
- 16.54% public recreation
- 17.69% agriculture
- 33.08% open space
- 20.77% of people had concerns or comments

Background
The Ure Ranch, located in the Kamas Valley, has a history that dates back to its homesteading in 1892. Acquired in the spring of 2023, the property has been earmarked for conservation efforts.
