Free movies, popcorn and more at Park City Library this month
PARK CITY, Utah — The Park City library invites you to view their new art exhibit by Matt Elder.
Elder is a local resident and an adventure and travel photographer. His “Chilled Serenity” show is bound to inspire any nature lover to go out there and enjoy its beauty. This show is already up.
Free movies and popcorn for all age groups
During the winter break, the library will feature movies every day from Dec. 27 through Dec. 30.
- Dec. 27, 3 p.m. – “Barbie”
- Dec. 28, 3 p.m. – “Elemental”
- Dec. 28, 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. – Attend a reception with Matt Elder for his new art show “Chilled Serenity.” Afterwards he will introduce the film “The Sanctity of Space.”
- 7 p.m. – “The Sanctity of Space.” As described by the Park City Library staff: “Catalyzed by a single black and white photo captured by legendary photographer and mountaineer Bradford Washburn, three climbers become obsessed with completing the climb shown in the image. The Sanctity of Space beautifully weaves Washburn’s extraordinary life and accomplishments with the climbers’ daring attempt to cross the Moose’s Tooth Traverse, which has never before been completed.” This movie was featured at the 2022 Mountainfilm Festival.
- Dec. 29, 3 p.m. – “The Little Mermaid”
- Dec. 30, 3 p.m. – “Super Mario Bros.”
Nochevieja: Latin American and Spanish New Year’s Eve Party on Dec. 30, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
The Park City Library will repeat its popular Latinx New Years Party called Nochevieja! Over 100 people attended last year. Celebrate the old and ring in the new a little early with Park City Library’s New Year’s Eve party — minus the crowds, the traffic, and the late nights.
Learn how the New Year is celebrated in cultures across Latin America and Spain. Drop in between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. to learn about various traditions, create crafts, play games, and count down to noon with noise makers and colorful ribbons. This free event is bilingual and intended for all ages.
Celebremos lo antiguo y démosle la bienvenida al Año Nuevo en nuestra fiesta de Nochevieja — sin las muchedumbres, ni el tráfico, ni el desvelo. Experimente algunas de las diversas costumbres de Latinoamérica y España. Venga entre las 10:00 y 12:00 hrs. para aprender de varias costumbres, hacer una manualidad, jugar juegos, y esperar anhelosamente las 12:00 del mediodía. Este evento libre y gratuito es para niños, adultos y familias. Este es un evento bilingüe.
