Local chefs to cook at James Beard Foundation events

NEW YORK — The Park City Restaurant Association (PCARA) is gearing up to showcase the skills of its top chefs and acclaimed spirit companies at the upcoming Platform by the James Beard Foundation event in New York City. Set for Sept. 2024, this culinary showcase will feature renowned Park City chefs and award-winning spirit brands, offering a taste of the city’s culinary excellence.

Executive Chef Clement Gelas from Courchevel Bistro, Executive Chef Michael Showers representing High West Distillery, Chef Carlos Segura from Pendry Park City, Co-owner and Executive Chef Seth Adams from Riverhorse on Main, Executive Chef and Director of Food and Beverage Zane Holmquist of The Stein Collection, and co-owner and Executive Chef Matthew Harris from tupelo will present their top dishes and cocktails at the event.

“We are incredibly thrilled at the opportunity to bring Park City’s exceptional culinary talents to Platform by the James Beard Foundation next fall,” Park City Area Restaurant Association executive director Ginger Wicks said. “Congratulations to our PCARA members who have been chosen to showcase their creativity and expertise, while representing our esteemed culinary community.”

Funding for the events at Platform by the James Beard Foundation comes from a Summit County Restaurant Tax Grant. Sixteen PCARA members submitted applications, and a selection committee comprising PCARA Board Members, Park City Chamber Bureau representatives, Summit County Tax Grant members, and the Utah Office of Tourism chose the participants.

Platform by the James Beard Foundation, located within the new Market 57 food hall, serves as a cutting-edge show kitchen and educational space for culinary arts programming. Alongside Good To Go by JBF, a food kiosk offering a rotating fast-casual menu focused on sustainable and ethically sourced food, both entities embody the Beard Foundation’s mission of Good Food for Good®.

The convergence of Park City’s culinary talents and the prestigious James Beard Foundation’s Platform event promises an engaging showcase in New York City, spotlighting the city’s culinary diversity and expertise.
