PARK CITY, Utah — Colby Stevenson, 25, a Park City native, is a creative and technical skier who continues to push not only the envelope of his disciplines in slopestyle and big air but in big mountain riding as well. Showcasing his expertise in both disciplines, Stevenson clenched the silver medal win at the Olympic Winter Games in 2022 in big air and was also crowned the king of Corbet’s in 2023 at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, becoming the first skier to ever take off switch into the famous couloir.
U.S. Ski and Snowboard athletes Stevenson, Maggie Voisin, Mac Forehand, Walker Woodring and team alum Tom Wallisch spent time with The Good Company crew last season and are starring in a new film called “Crescendo,” coming out Oct. 17.
I've lived in Park City for 30 years but right off the starting line, my journalism professors expressed plaudits after class for writing more so about the small-town sports in the surrounding mountains than the urban updates they assigned. Therefore, I’m on par punning and penning Parkites' pastimes. Turning high and early through my career, I’ve worked communications for The Olympics, the Paralympics and the Special Olympics. Additionally, there's been National Geographic, Patagonia, NCAA, USA Nordic and the United States Library of Congress, so I guess you could say this ain't my first rodeo.
