Car in canal after traffic accident in Wanship

WANSHIP, Utah — A car was partially submerged in a canal yesterday after a traffic accident on Old Lincoln Highway in Wanship.

According to a statement from the North Summit Fire Service District, firefighters and an ambulance reported to the scene at approximately 12 p.m.

The driver showed signs of impairment, and prescription drugs were present in the vehicle, the Summit County Sheriff’s Office said. The driver failed a field sobriety test and was taken into custody.
