Utah DABS to hold drawing for rare Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon

UTAH — The Utah Department of Alcoholic Beverage Services (DABS) will hold a drawing for a limited quantity of highly sought-after bourbon later this month.

Utahns will have the rare chance to enter an opportunity drawing to purchase a bottle of Pappy Van Winkle, a highly regarded bourbon made in limited quantities, and the Sazerac Antique Collection.

DABS only makes certain products available through opportunity drawings, mainly those released in limited quantities. In addition to Pappy Van Winkle bourbon and the Sazerac Antique Collection, DRC Wines, Old Forester Birthday Bourbon Yamazaki 18-year Japanese Whiskey are common rare high demand products.

Due to Utah’s liquor laws, those who are chosen will be able to purchase bottles of Pappy Van Winkle for a fraction of what it typically sells for. While Pappy Van Winkle bourbon can sell for prices in the four-digit range, drawing winners will be able to purchase a 10-year bottle for $99.99 up to a 23-year bottle for $399.99.

Bourbon enthusiasts can register for the drawing here beginning at 12 a.m. on September 12. Registration will end on September 22 at 11:59 p.m.

Opportunity drawing winners will be selected using a randomizing computer software. Those who are selected will be notified by DABS, and they will then be able to purchase the product at their pre-selected DABS store within 16 days.
