UDOT’s Marsac Avenue repaving project to continue throughout the rest of the month
SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah — The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) will continue its resurfacing project on Marsac Avenue throughout the rest of the month.
Crews are resurfacing Marsac Avenue in Summit County from the Wasatch County line to the Marsac roundabout at Mile Post 4.65.
“The project objectives are aimed at preserving the life of the roadway by preventing the deterioration of the road surface and address roadway imperfections,” said the UDOT project description. “Additional work includes adding rumble strips with a brake check area to enhance motorist safety, as well as rebuild Hillside Ave. pedestrian ramps to be ADA compliant.”
UDOT has provided the following updated construction schedule on the project:
- August 14-15: Crews will return early Monday morning to wrap up the northbound lane of paving from the Marsac roundabout to mid-canyon. Some additional paving work expected from the Montage moving toward the summit. Heavy traffic delays expected.
- August 15-18: The first coat of permanent paint and roadway messaging/directional striping(e.g. travel lane lines, stop bars) throughout the route. By the end of the week, crews will begin raising utilities to be flush with pavement. Expect some additional work to level the roadway into the shoulders as necessary. Moderate traffic delays possible during peak periods.
- August 21-September 1: Shouldering work continues. Utility covers will be raised to be flush with the pavement, and any outstanding roadway signs will replaced/added. Light to moderate traffic delays. Project substantially complete!
- September: Second coat of paint to be applied to lane lines throughout the route.
According to UDOT, this schedule may be subject to change due to weather conditions or material availability.
