Expect traffic delays from President Joe Biden’s Park City fundraising event this afternoon
PARK CITY, Utah – U.S. President Joe Biden is scheduled to participate in a campaign fundraising reception at 1:30 p.m. this afternoon in Park City, according to the Daily White House Schedule.
While details of the presidents route in and out of Park City and specific times are all subject to change, Lt. Jay Randall with the Park City Police department told TownLift that when high profile visits happen, the route is typically locked down for between 30 and 45 minutes.
Drivers planning on heading up or down to Salt Lake today between 12-3 p.m. should expect some delays. A very high level of security is expected for Biden’s visit.
Biden landed in Utah last night for his first presidential visit to the state of Utah. Mere hours earlier, FBI agents shot and killed a Provo man suspected of making threats against the President. Biden was greeted by Utah Gov. Spencer Cox and his wife, Abby Cox, Salt Lake County Mayor Jenny Wilson and Salt Lake City Mayor Erin Mendenhall.
Biden is expected speak at the Veterans Affairs hospital about the PACT Act on its one-year anniversary today. Afterward, he is expected to travel to Park City for an exclusive fundraising event at an undisclosed location.
