Fireworks restrictions implemented in Wasatch County

WASATCH COUNTY, Utah — In the lead up to Pioneer Day celebrations, the Wasatch County Fire District has implemented fireworks restrictions.

“The current conditions present very hazardous fire potential during this fireworks season. This is particularly true within a wildland interface area, or the type of area described in Utah Code §15A-5-202.5(1)(b)(1),” said a statement from the Wasatch County Government.

Due to recently increased temperatures, Wasatch Fire has implemented fireworks restrictions for any area located in the Wildland Urban Interface. These restrictions will be in place from July 22-24. Further restrictions can still be implemented by local governments or homeowners associations.

In Park City, fireworks and other open fires have been banned, effective July 20.
