SALT LAKE CITY — There is a very high likelihood of over 50 knot winds between 3-7 p.m. this afternoon across the West Desert, according to the National Weather Service.
This is expected to impact Salt Lake City as well as a portion of Parleys Canyon. An isolated area is predicted to reach 60 knot winds. Across the Wasatch Front there is a 40% chance of over 40 knot winds this afternoon.
One knot is equal to 1.15 miles per hour.
