Teton Gravity Research opens pop-up shop Memorial Day weekend
JACKSON, Wyo. — Teton Gravity Research (TGR) announced plans to open a pop-up retail shop in the heart of Park City over Memorial Day Weekend. This shop marks the company’s latest move to expand its retail footprint by opening doors to customers in Utah’s premier winter and summer destination town.
The pop-up will be located at 613 Main Street and offer a variety of TGR’s acclaimed lifestyle apparel and optics, just in time for the summer season to begin.
In the fall shoulder season, TGR will close the pop-up shop and pivot to full construction mode. The pop-up will transform into fully immersive action sports and brand lifestyle experience featuring a state-of-the-art theater to showcase TGR’s nearly 60 award-winning films, and it will also be available to host private gatherings and community events.
Park City has been on TGR’s radar for years thanks to the town’s collective passion for the outdoors and its world-renowned Winter Olympics legacy after it played host to the skiing events during the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Games. The Park City pop-up shop is the sixth brick-and-mortar retail location for TGR and follows the success of other popular outdoor destinations, including Breckenridge, Colo., Bozeman, Mont., and Jackson Hole, Wyo. TGR also anticipates the grand opening of a flagship retail store on Boulder’s renowned Pearl Street this summer.
“We see this as such an incredible opportunity to bring an authentic global brand like TGR to Park City,” said TGR co-founders Steve Jones and Todd Jones. “TGR puts athletes front and center, from seasoned big-mountain shredders to aspiring groms. We’re thrilled to share our action sport, youth-focused mission with Utahns.”
TGR endeavors to create a community connection with its new pop-up shop and on-the-ground team. By partnering with the Park City community as well as Utah nonprofit organizations focused on outdoor, snow, and youth sports development, TGR sees itself as integral to creating fundraising and capacity-building opportunities. TGR will also hire locally to staff the shop and contribute to the local economy during the winter and summer seasons.
“TGR believes in building a strong community. It’s a part of our ethos and mission,” said TGR Retail Director Devin Gillette, a Park City native. “We can’t wait to meet and work with Park City and Utah organizations to bring the stoke and inspire getting after it in the outdoors.”
Starting Memorial Day Weekend, the Park City pop-up will be open daily, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
