All-things-trails open house returns Thursday after three-year hiatus
PARK CITY, Utah — The Mountain Trails Foundation’s all-things-trails open house will return from a three-year hiatus this Thursday, June 1.
Formerly known as Mountain Madness, the Regional Trail Mixer is a free open house will take place at Legacy Lodge from 5-8 p.m. and feature presentations from 15 trails and open space organizations, free food, a charge bar and a drawing.
This is the first iteration of the event since it was put on hold during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“It’s kind of a it’s a trails centric, open house,” said Lora Smith, executive director of the Mountain Trails Foundation. “So everything you want to know about trails primarily in the Wasatch Back, but we are calling it a regional regional open house because we’re including our friends from Salt Lake City.”
Representatives from the State of Utah, Park City, the U.S. Forest Service, the Wasatch Trails Foundation, the South Summit Trails Foundation and more will be present to discuss both upcoming and completed trails projects.
According to Smith, the open house is also intended to serves as a networking event for the trails community, an opportunity to connect with both old friends and new acquaintances.
“We are just super happy to be kind of returning the trails community back to normal,” Smith said. “But it’s just like this great networking social event. It’s a social mixer as well, as an educational community builder.”
