Two snowmobilers transported by helicopter during busy weekend for Wasatch County SAR

WASATCH COUNTY, Utah — It was a busy weekend for the Wasatch County Search and Rescue team who responded to two snowmobile accidents on Saturday, April 1.

At approximately 9:49 a.m., the SAR team responded to a snowmobile accident at Strawberry River. A 16-year-old male was injured after colliding with a tree, and was transported from the scene via LifeFlight.

At around 10:38 a.m. Wasatch County SAR responded to another snowmobile accident near Soapstone Basin. A 42-year-old female had sustained injuries, and was transported from the scene by University of Utah AirMed.

“This call was about 20 miles north of the previous call that also involved a helicopter extraction within the same hour,” Wasatch County SAR said in a statement. “Thanks for your help AirMed and Park City Fire District.”
