SALT LAKE CITY — Images shared yesterday by the National Weather Service Salt Lake City show the staggering difference between Utah’s snowpack on February 1, 2023, and January 30, 2022.
“Clear skies yesterday (2/1) allowed us to get a look at the extensive snowpack across Utah (first image), which is running about 70% above average for this time of year,” said a statement from NWS Salt Lake City. “Last year at this time (second image) snowpack was about average for this time of year.”
