Prospector Square struggles with snow removal, illegal dumping
PARK CITY, Utah — The Prospector Square neighborhood has asked for resident help to tackle the community’s snow removal and garbage problems.
With record-breaking snowfall this year, the community is currently $40,000 over budget for snow hauling, according to a memo sent out by the PSPOA.
“Two years ago, we were $35,000 under budget,” said the memo. “If you plan on removing snow from a roof and putting it on common area, please give PSPOA a heads up. Last weekend Carriage House needed to remove snow for safety reasons and as a result, the west side of the Poison Creek sidewalk will likely remain closed for the month of March.”
The community is also struggling to accommodate illegal dumping from local companies in resident dumpsters. According to the memo, three different companies have been warned to cease dumping in the last two weeks.
“If you see illegal dumping going on, please take photos and send to info@prospectorsquare.com,” said the memo. “Issues we are seeing are construction waste, outside firms, and property management companies dumping residential garbage.”
The community’s garbage issues are also being compounded by missed pickup dates by Republic Services, garbage put out in front of already full dumpsters, and cardboard that hasn’t been broken down being thrown into recycling dumpsters.
These issues will be discussed at Prospector Square’s next board meeting will take place on Wednesday, March 15, at 4 p.m. at the Sheraton Hotel. Additionally, a marketing Committee meeting is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 14, at Este Pizza.
