Millions of bottles of Fabuloso recalled due to risk of exposure to bacteria

UTAH — Colgate-Palmolive recalled 4.9 million bottles of Fabuloso Multi-Purpose cleaners yesterday, and has advised consumers to “immediately stop all use of the recalled products.”

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the recalled products can contain Pseudomonas species bacteria, which are organisms typically found in soil and water.

“People with weakened immune systems, external medical devices, or underlying lung conditions who are exposed to the bacteria face a risk of serious infection that may require medical treatment,” said a press release from the Consumer Product Safety Commission. “The bacteria can enter the body if inhaled, through the eyes, or through a break in the skin. People with healthy immune systems are usually not affected by the bacteria.”
