Compost those lingering Christmas trees throughout January

Trees can be composted this January thanks to Recycle Utah, Spoil to Soil, Park City EATS, and the Park City School District. Photo: Annie Spratt.
SUMMIT COUNTY — Good news for the Christmas procrastinators, if your tree is still hanging out in your home, it can be composted.
Throughout January, when trees are dropped off, they will be chipped and composted with Spoil to Soil. Trees can be dropped off at the locations below:
- Jeremy Ranch (Across from Bell’s Quick Stop)
- Silver Creek (Bell’s Truck Stop)
- Oakley (Beside City Hall)
- Kamas (Behind the City Building)
- Wanship (Next to the Stockyards)
Make sure that no Christmas lights, plastic bags, tree stands, or holiday leftovers are lingering with the tree.
