Bout Time Pub & Grub closes

PARK CITY, Utah — Bout Time Pub & Grub closed its doors on December 4 after serving the Park City area since 2013.

The Kimball Junction sports bar’s lease was based on a Dining Club license, but in 2018 Utah Legislature changed alcohol code 32-b, and Bout Time converted to a Bar license. The code effectively made Dining Clubs extinct, and establishments under that license were forced to choose Restaurant or Bar licensing.

“The lease for this location was based on the Dining Club license and not a Bar license,” said Tim Ryan, Bout Time CFO. “However, the Landlord did allow the business to operate under the Bar license until the lease expired and even longer on a month-to-month basis until this month. To this point, the franchise owner has been unable to secure an alternate location and has had to close. We all hope this will be a temporary situation and look forward to re-opening somewhere soon!”

Bout Time has multiple locations in Utah, including Ogden, Cottonwood Heights, Layton, and Salt Lake City, and two in Colorado.
