Sen. Mitt Romney selling multi-million dollar Deer Valley ski-in-ski-out house

PARK CITY, Utah — As far as ski-in-ski-out properties in Deer Valley are concerned, Utah Senator Mitt Romney’s is one of the most visible on the hill. Directly adjacent to the highly-traveled Success run, skiers can be overheard telling their friends the famous name of the owner of the log-cabin style house with the uniquely-designed, twisted branch deck railing. The house is now on the market, listed with Summit Sotheby’s for $11.5 million. He stands to make an approximately $2 million profit.

The family is familiar with the resort and the global winter sports industry, as Romney lead the Salt Lake 2002 Olympic Committee away from scandal and towards historic financial success. When he was preparing to run for president in 2009, the family sold a previously-owned home, also at Deer Valley.

Built in 1991, the six-bed, eight-bath home on a half-acre is located at 6730 Silver Lake Drive and featured in Architectural Digest.

The sale is presently pending.
