Semi-truck fire on I-80 extinguished quickly

SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah — In a Facebook post from October 7, Park City Fire District reported a semi-truck fire on I-80 that started at 4 a.m. near mile marker 149 eastbound.

The semi was hauling scrap metal bales and ignited suddenly on the side of the road. Four different emergency vehicles responded to the fire and extinguished it quickly. Thanks to the quick response by PCFD, there were no injuries from the fire.

The fire was extinguished before it could spread to the brush on the nearby hillside. Eastbound traffic was shut down for approximately 20 minutes, after which it resumed as usual.
