Summit Community Gardens to host fall cleanup with GoBiochar

PARK CITY, Utah — Summit Community Gardens (SCG) is hosting their Garden Clean-up on October 1 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Attendees will help plant garlic and paint pumpkins while learning about Salt Lake company GoBiochar. SCG will sell garlic for attendees to plant in their own gardens.

With cooler temperatures and the fall season gearing up in Park City, SCG is making changes to the garden preparing for the changing season. Erica Snyder, Youth Education Coordinator, will be in attendance for what is meant to be a fun-filled day of coming together at the SCG.

“Come to the garden this Saturday, October 1st from 10am-2pm, to help plant garlic in our demonstration beds and learn how to winterize your own garden bed. Sloane and Melissa will be on-hand to help answer questions and give instructions. Bring your kids and let them paint pumpkins with Erica in the Garden Classroom,” said Snyder.

GoBiochar will be there to educate the public about Biochar, secondary biomass that can be added to the soil for multiple benefits, including soil health and carbon capture.

More information, including how to get a free sample of Biochar, can be found on their website.
