Construction worker rescued after full burial in Summit Park

PARK CITY, Utah — On Monday, Park City Fire District responded to an incident where a 25-year-old West Jordan man was fully buried at a construction site on Upper Evergreen in Summit Park.  The accident occurred around 5:30 p.m.  

The construction crew was laying rebar when the ground started to give way. The construction worker tried to get out of the way when their foot become caught up in the rebar. They were then completely buried by the dirt. With help from first responders and the construction crew, he was dug out.

“The firefighters did an amazing job, and the patient’s coworkers risked their own lives to help save the patient,” said a Park City Fire District spokesperson in a statement.

Park City Fire District confirmed the patient was conscious, breathing, and alert. The patient was in stable condition and transported to the hospital for further care.
