UPDATE: 60% contained – Little Dell Fire starts early Monday morning in Parley’s Canyon

Currently 60% contained with minimal fire growth. Both UFA and @slcfire working hard to secure the fires edge to eliminate potential spread. Once secured, our crews will focus on interior hotspots.
PARK CITY, Utah — Unified Fire is reporting that a new fire has broken out Monday morning near the Little Dell Reservoir in Parley’s Canyon. The fire was first reported around 1:30 am and is currently 8-10 acres with low fire behavior and a low rate of spread. No communities threatened at this time, the fire is several miles from the county border and not a threat to Summit County land or structures.
Fire crews are anticipating increased fire behavior as we transition into warmer temps throughout the day. Air resources are on standby. Crews have hose lines around the fire and are currently punching in saw line to remove the unburned fuel from the fire’s edge.

This new fire comes on the heels of a weekend full of wildfires across Utah, including Millard, Tooele and Cache counties that have been pushing smoke and ash into Park City.
