Gov. Cox pulls Russian products from state liquor stores

SALT LAKE CITY — Gov. Spencer Cox issued an executive order this weekend requiring the Utah Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (DABC) to immediately remove all Russian-produced and Russian-branded products from its shelves.

“Russia’s ruthless attack on a sovereign nation is an egregious violation of human rights,” Gov. Cox said. “Utah stands in solidarity with Ukraine and will not support Russian enterprises, no matter how small the exchange.”

The executive order requires the removal of Russian-made and Russian-branded products from DABC stores until the order is rescinded. It also orders the Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity to review the state’s procurements for any other economic relationships with Russia.
