Multiple chairlifts on Wind Hold status

PARK CITY, Utah — On January 26 at 10:00 a.m., wind gusts in the Wasatch Back Mountain Range prompted ski resorts to place certain individual chairlifts on Wind Hold Status.

Both Park City Mountain and Deer Valley Resort are reporting Wind Holds for chairlifts.

The Resorts are open and operational, and it is not uncommon for chairlifts to be placed on temporary Wind Holds.

At the time of this publication: Park City Mountain had 17 lifts on Wind Hold and Deer Valley Resort had four lifts on Wind Hold.

Chairlift Wind holds are not occurring while riders are on board and said Holds expire the minute given winds subside.

Skiers and riders are encouraged to continue to utilize all open terrain and all open chairlifts.

Deer Valley Resort has received seven inches of fresh snow in the last 24 hours and Park City Mountain has received four inches.
