On chilly Saturday morning, the chilly waters of the Park City Recreation pool played host to the Special Olympics Utah’s fundraiser, the Park City Polar Plunge.

The Park City Police Department-Utah, other City staff, and members of the community-at-large participated in the event which raised over $16,000 and the donations keep coming in.

CJ Haerter is a long-time participant of the Special Olympics of Utah and was this inaugural event’s special frontman. His mom, Muggins, told TownLift, “My Goodness, we had no idea that would be so much fun. It was so great to have a community rally around not only CJ but Special Olympics.”

She also said that since the Park City Polar Plunge was was such a success the Special Olympics of Utah is already looking forward to a repeat next year.
