Report finds Utah to be the most charitable state
PARK CITY, Utah — In rankings calculated by WalletHub, which took into consideration variables such as volunteer rate and share of income donated, Utah was found to be the most charitable state in the US.
Utah ranked second in volunteer service and fifth in charitable giving. WalletHub used 19 variables in total to calculate the score.
Americans gave $471 billion to charity in 2020, which is a rise of 5.1% compared to 2019 (National Philanthropic Trust).
